Founded by university friends, Nopa’s mission is to produce quality agricultural products from the best Ethiopia has to offer all while enriching the livelihood of women. Our company prides itself in being 100% women-owned and operated and working closely with marginalized women to make them active participants in the economy.
We are committed to building a sustainable value chain that ensures women are put at the forefront of all our products. Nopa is the name of a small town in Illubabour, southwest Ethiopia.

I grew up listening to stories of my grandfather and his farms in Nopa and ever since I have been passionate about agriculture. Upon completing my post graduate studies in Business Administration, the opportunity to unite my agricultural interest and my knowledge of business presented itself and from there, Nopa was created.

Prior to Nopa, I have had the opportunity to actively engage in different agricultural projects that diagnosed selected market constraints to spot business opportunities that can benefit the livelihood of the society. The work I carried out in these areas inspired me in establishing Nopa and all the values its build upon.

Working in a family-owned agribusiness that focused on plantations of moringa and other fruits and vegetables gave me an insight and sparked my interest in this particular sector. It also provided me with first-hand experience in what today’s market demands and that is a company that is more than just making profit.
